Hayley Spitler is a Chicagoland native currently living in Greenville, South Carolina working as the Midday anchor for Fox Carolina.
Hayley helped launch the newscast in January of 2023— taking a blank slate and creating a show she hopes everyone will find informative and entertaining. You can tune in and expect the latest breaking news, big headlines and weather forecasts along with original segments including Midday Eats, the Legal Lowdown, Fine Arts Friday and more.
While she loves being on the desk, she also loves being out in the community telling your stories— still reporting whenever she can.
Prior to moving down south, Hayley worked in Eau Claire, Wisconsin as an anchor and multimedia journalist for WEAU 13 News and FOX 25 48.
While in the Coulee Region, she worked as the station’s bureau reporter covering every topic thrown at her solo— including two one-on-one interviews with then Vice President Mike Pence. A year into her contract, she was promoted to anchor First News at Nine every weeknight, later co-anchoring the 10pm newscast Monday-Friday as well.
She has a passion for storytelling and doing so in an ethical and just way. Hayley won a 1st place Wisconsin Broadcasting Award for Best News Writing for her story ‘Vaccine 180’ As well as 2- 3rd place finishes including in the features category for her story ‘Anthony’s Legacy’ She loves being connected to her community and helping inform others.
Hayley graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in multimedia journalism and a minor in marketing.
While a student at Loyola University Chicago, she was the executive producer of Rambler Sports Locker, the only student-run broadcast show at Loyola. Hayley covered Loyola’s 2018 NCAA tournament run and the national championship game. She traveled to Dallas, Atlanta, and San Antonio in Loyola’s run to the Final Four. Her college career also included internships at Chicago Tonight and NBC Chicago Sports.
She enjoys laughing through life and working in high-pressure situations. Hayley loves to look for the best angle of a story and chase after it. From researching and interviewing to recording and editing, she likes to follow the story from beginning to end. Hayley believes that everyone’s story deserves to be told and she hopes to be the one who gets to tell it.
When she’s not reporting, you can probably catch Hayley cheering on the Chicago Cubs with her pup Zobrist by her side, dreaming of a meal at RPM Italian, spending time with her five siblings, or watching Bravo and E! News and keeping herself in the know with all things pop culture.
